This is the next step [baby steps] in my evolution. As you may (or may not) know I am doing a short message on Facebook called “15 Minutes With Floyd” each Sunday @ 10:00 AM live that posts to that Facebook page after that. I hope to have you visit me there as well. https://www.facebook.com/PastorFloydBanks/?view_public_for=111292627338821
This website has come about because I have had numerous people reach out to me and ask if I was doing anything other than Facebook because they do not use that media. I understand that. I have been a lot less active there since June.
So ... what do I hope to achieve here on this page? As strange as this may sound: I’m not quite sure. I know that I can’t withdraw from the world even during this pandemic: that’s not what I feel God would have me to do. I feel Him urging me to continue speaking a message to those who are seeking Him, so I hope to play some small (or great if that’s what He wants) part in His plan. You know how I feel about what God would have me to do: it’s my life verse from Jeremiah; 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. [Jeremiah 29:11] Here’s what I do know: I am always going to do what I feel God would have me to do. I have no choice. As Mordecai told Esther; 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” [Esther 4:14] God chooses who He wants to accomplish certain tasks and every time I believe He calls upon me, my answer is “yes!”
Many years ago I was a consistent watcher of the TV series Grey’s Anatomy. There was this one episode that a patient was going into a very difficult surgery. The surgeon told him if he got to a point where he might do more harm than good he would just stop and close him up. Here’s an abbreviated portion of the answer the patient gave him. “…there is always a way when things look like there's no way. There's a way to do the impossible, to survive the un-survivable. There's always a way. (And you, you and I have this in common.) We're inspired. In the face of the impossible, we're inspired. So if I can offer one piece of advice ... today if you become frightened, instead become inspired.” I have never forgotten that soliloquy. I try to remember that when things get tough. I remember who I am, what I have been taught, but most importantly who I serve. So as I, as we, go forward in life, remember the God we serve and be inspired, inspired to overcome even that which seems impossible. That is what I hope to achieve.
